Transcend North Iowa met Saturday for the group’s third meeting. Several new faces joined us in sharing experiences, asking questions, and eating yummy treats. Without a doubt, we have the most awesome people! Each person provides a unique perspective and valuable component to our meetings. If you haven’t joined us yet, you really should consider it.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Charles City Hosts New North Iowa Group for Transgender Support
Charles City, IA – February 13, 2017
A new organization dedicated to serving the needs of the transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming community has emerged in North Iowa. Transcend North Iowa, a group fully staffed and run by volunteers, will be hosting their third meeting this Saturday, from 5 to 7 PM, at the Charles City Public Library.
“We’re new, but we’ve already seen a tremendous amount of support from the community,” said Jessamy Orcutt, one of the organization’s founders. “This is a resource that many larger communities have, but that our area has been lacking. Our transgender and gender nonconforming community deserves to have an easily-accessible resource.”
More information about the group and the resources available can be found at www.transcendnorthiowa.com.

There were questions asked, discussions had, stories told, and tips shared. (Even some advice about hairspray!) We finished the meeting with participants filling out and posting the signs below.
