About

Dedicated to supporting transgender, non-binary, and all gender nonconforming individuals.

Transcend North Iowa was founded in 2016 in response to a lack of resources in the North Iowa area for transgender individuals. The group caters to those who identify as transgender or gender nonconforming, their families, and their allies. It not only strives to offer support, education, and advocacy to its members, but to bring transgender issues to light in local communities and encourage equality and acceptance.

“As a parent of a F2M son, I have had a lot to learn about the transgender community. Despite the occasional bump in the road, the journey thus far has been very positive and enlightening. I am certainly no expert, however I am willing to do what I can to support trans people and their families and friends.“
